| METIS > Fourth Term Future Activities |

The 4th term, from April 2009 to March 2012, will proceed under the theme of “Growth Strategy through Commercialization of Innovative Medical Engineering and Improvement of Industrial Infrastructure.” METIS has three objectives:
(1) commercialization of innovative medical devices and technology,
(2) implementation of development of the infrastructure of the medical
device industry, and
(3) promotion of educational activities.
Dr. Fumihiko Kajiya, Vice President of Kawasaki University of Medical Welfare, will represent academia and continue his role as co-chairman from the 2nd and 3rd terms. Mr. Kazuo Ogino, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Nihon Kohden Corporation, who was appointed as Chairman of Japan Federation of Medical Devices Associations (JFMDA) in April 2009, has assumed the role of co-chairman as the representative of industry. |
